Il Musée des Arts décoratifs (Museo delle Arti Decorative) celebra i 70 anni della creazione della casa Christian Dior. Questa esposizione, ricca e densa, invita il visitatore a scoprire l’universo del suo fondatore e dei famosi stilisti che gli sono succeduti: Yves Saint Laurent, Marc Bohan, Gianfranco Ferré, John Galliano, Raf Simons e, molto di recente, Maria Grazia Chiuri.

Emozioni, storie di vita, affinità, ispirazioni, creazioni ed eredità artistiche sono il filo conduttore di questa selezione di oltre 300 abiti di alta moda progettati tra il 1947 e i giorni nostri.

Accanto agli abiti, per la prima volta in modo così esaustivo, vengono presentate tele di atelier e fotografie di moda, oltre a diverse centinaia di documenti (illustrazioni, schizzi, fotografie di reportage, lettere e manoscritti, documenti pubblicitari, ecc.) e accessori di moda (cappelli, gioielli, borse, scarpe, flaconi di profumi, ecc.).

Percorsi cronologici e tematici Christian Dior fu anche un appassionato d’arte e un amante dei musei. Nella mostra, non a caso più di 70 anni di creazioni artistiche dialogano allo stesso modo con quadri, mobili e oggetti d’arte. Queste opere approfondiscono e prolungano idealmente lo sguardo di Christian Dior, esplorando i legami che lo stilista ha saputo tessere tra la moda e tutte le altre forme d’arte, legami che definiscono lo stile della casa. I due commissari della mostra, Florence Müller e Olivier Gabet, hanno dato vita al loro progetto articolando un percorso cronologico e tematico che per la prima volta riunisce gli spazi dedicati alla moda con quelli della navata del museo, per un totale di circa 3.000 metri quadrati.

The Musée des Arts décoratifs (Museum of Decorative Arts) celebrates the 70th anniversary of the creation of the Christian Dior home. This rich, dense show invites the visitor to discover the universe of his founder and famous fashion designers: Yves Saint Laurent, Marc Bohan, Gianfranco Ferré, John Galliano, Raf Simons and, very recently, Maria Grazia Chiuri.

Emotions, life stories, affinities, inspirations, creations, and artistic legends are the thread of this selection of over 300 high fashion dresses designed between 1947 and today.

Next to the dresses, for the first time in such a lively manner, there are paintings of ateliers and fashion photographs, as well as several hundred documents (illustrations, sketches, reportage photographs, letters and manuscripts, advertising papers, etc.) and accessories of fashion (hats, jewelery, handbags, shoes, perfume bottles, etc.).

Chronological and thematic paths Christian Dior was also a lover of art and a museum lover. In the exhibition, no more than 70 years of artistic creations, like paintings, furniture and art objects. These works deepen and prolong ideally the look of Christian Dior, exploring the ties that the stylist has tainted between fashion and all other forms of art, ties that define the style of the home. The two commissioners of the exhibition, Florence Müller and Olivier Gabet, gave birth to their project by articulating a chronological and thematic journey that for the first time brings together fashionable spaces with those of the aisle of the museum, for a total of about 3,000 square meters .
